Mr. House was disappointed but not surprised that his informant didn't know who was behind the kidnapping. But the information he had received was still valuable. It meant that he was dealing with someone who had connections and power.

Determined to follow every lead, Mr. House decided to do some digging into Mr. Johnson's business dealings. He had a hunch that the key to solving the case lay in uncovering a business deal gone wrong.

As he poured over financial statements and company records, Mr. House noticed a discrepancy in one of Mr. Johnson's recent deals. It looked like Mr. Johnson had been swindled out of millions of dollars by a rival businessman.

Mr. House knew that he had to talk to this businessman, but he also knew that it was going to be dangerous. He made sure to bring his gun before heading out to confront the man.

When he arrived at the businessman's office, Mr. House was greeted by a group of armed guards. But he was not intimidated. He flashed his badge and demanded to speak with the man in charge.

The businessman finally emerged from his office, a smug grin on his face. "What do you want?" he asked.

"I want to know why you kidnapped Emily Johnson," said Mr. House.

The businessman's face paled. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said, but Mr. House could see the fear in his eyes.

"Don't play games with me," said Mr. House. "I know that you swindled Mr. Johnson out of millions of dollars, and I have reason to believe that you were behind his daughter's kidnapping."

The businessman hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, you got me," he said. "I had Emily kidnapped as a warning to Mr. Johnson.

Mr. House knew that he needed to follow this new lead to find out who was behind Emily's kidnapping. He began to investigate all of Mr. Johnson's business dealings, looking for any sign of who might have a grudge against him. He spent hours poring over financial records and interviewing employees.

One day, he received a call from a woman who claimed to have information about the kidnapping. She refused to meet in person but agreed to speak over the phone. Mr. House listened carefully as the woman described a meeting she had overheard between Mr. Johnson and a wealthy businessman named Robert.

According to the woman, Robert was angry with Mr. Johnson because he had refused to sell his company to him. Robert had threatened Mr. Johnson and said that he would make him pay for his refusal. Mr. House knew that he had to find Robert and question him about Emily's kidnapping.

He spent the next few days trying to track down Robert's whereabouts. He finally got a lead from a friend in the police department who had heard that Robert was staying at a hotel on the other side of town. Mr. House raced to the hotel and found Robert in his room.

Robert was surprised to see Mr. House, but he tried to play it cool. "What can I do for you, detective?" he asked.

Mr. House didn't waste any time. "I know that you were behind the kidnapping of Emily Johnson," he said, his voice firm.

Robert's face paled, and he stammered, "I don't know what you're talking about."

Mr. House pulled out the evidence he had gathered and laid it out on the table. Robert's face grew even paler as he realized that he had been caught.

"I did it for the money," he finally admitted. "I needed the cash to save my failing business."

Mr. House couldn't believe how callous Robert was. He had put Emily's life in danger for his own selfish needs. He arrested Robert and took him to the police station, where he was charged with kidnapping and extortion.

Mr. House felt relieved that he had solved the case and brought the culprit to justice. But he couldn't shake the feeling that there were still more secrets to uncover. Who else was involved in the kidnapping? And what other crimes were being committed in the shadows of the city? Mr. House knew that he had to keep investigating to find out.
